FaceNinja turns photos of a person into finished 3D heads on MetaHuman topology, for game, film and VTubing pipelines and for the AI agents that run them. It is run from Nova Scotia, Canada.
What we make
A head from one to fifteen photos of a person: their face on MetaHuman topology, their own skin at 4K, the MetaHuman grooms that match their hair, a neck that fits and the 52 ARKit shapes, as a MetaHuman ZIP, GLB, FBX, OBJ, STL and PLY.
Three ways to make one: the web app, a REST API with webhooks, and a skill that AI coding agents install and use. Around the heads, a free MIT Creator Kit that turns your head into a VTuber avatar in Unreal Engine, and sample heads anyone can download after signing up.
How we work
- Finished, not raw. Automation only pays if nobody has to fix the result by hand, so every head comes with its skin, grooms and neck decided.
- Consent first. Only photos of yourself, or of adults who agreed. No children, and no photos found online. Every face on this site is synthetic.
- Short memory. Photos are deleted 7 days after a head is made and never used to train models.
- Limits said plainly. Each page says what a head leaves out, from the ears to the hair, next to what it does.
Where the profit goes
FaceNinja is run to cover its costs. What is left after running the service goes to a fund for people in low-income regions, communities affected by war and conflict, and people living with type 1 diabetes.
Profit here means our revenue minus payment and tax costs and the costs of running the service.
Each year we publish what we gave and to whom.
The money goes to registered charities working in these areas. We name each one here once it has agreed to be named.
The first yearly report will appear here after our first full year.
