Invite programme terms
Draft, pending legal review. This text is a working outline and is not in force. Items in [brackets] are open decisions. The final version will be written and approved by counsel before launch.
1. In short
Every FaceNinja account has an invite link. When someone creates a new account through your link and then buys credits, you receive 10 % of the credits they bought, as credits, each time they pay.
2. Who can take part
Any FaceNinja account in good standing under the terms of service. Your link is in Studio → Invite.
3. When someone counts as invited by you
- They open your link and create a new FaceNinja account within 30 days, in the same browser. Your link is remembered in that browser with a cookie for 30 days, and the account is linked to you when it is created.
- If they opened several invite links, the last one before they signed up counts.
- Existing accounts cannot be invited, and an account is linked to one inviter only, for good.
4. What you receive
- 10 % of the credits of every purchase the invited account pays for, rounded down to a whole credit, added to your balance as soon as Paddle confirms the payment. [Operator decision: no time limit and no cap.]
- Bonus credits work like other credits in the Studio and through the API. They are not money: they cannot be paid out, transferred or refunded.
5. What does not count
- Free credits (for example at sign-up), invite bonuses and credits returned for failed heads.
- Purchases that are refunded, credited or disputed: the bonus is taken back in the same proportion, even if this takes your balance below zero. If a dispute is decided in our favour, the bonus comes back.
6. Inviting yourself is not allowed
We do not pay a bonus, or we take it back, when the invited account belongs to you or your organisation. We check this automatically by comparing:
- the email address, including aliases of the same mailbox (for example dots and "+" tags in Gmail addresses, or alias domains of the same provider);
- the email domain, when it is an organisation's own domain rather than a public mail service;
- the payment card (brand, last four digits and expiry date) or payment account used for a purchase, including when you later pay with a card an invited account used;
- the Paddle customer that paid.
We also look at accounts that signed up from the same network. Other abuse, such as fake accounts, spam, misleading claims about FaceNinja or [bidding on the FaceNinja name in search ads], can lead us to withhold or reverse bonuses and to close accounts.
7. What we store and show
For each invited account we store that you invited it, when, and whether it counts. In Studio → Invite you see a masked email address (the first letter and the domain), the date it joined, whether it counts, how many purchases it made and the credits you earned from it, never what it bought. For the checks in section 6 we keep one-way fingerprints (keyed hashes) of the sign-up network and of payment cards, never card numbers. See the privacy policy.
8. Taxes
[Counsel: whether bonus credits can be taxable for the person who receives them, and what we say about it.]
9. Changes and ending the programme
We can change or end the programme with [30] days' notice on this page. Bonus credits already on your balance stay there.
